Largest Solar Bridge Project

The new solar roof covering Blackfriars railway bridge over the River Thames includes more than 6,000 square feet when completed, according to the developer. Work on the bridge of the world's largest solar has begun in central London.
More than 4,400 individual solar panels are expected to generate approximately 900,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year, providing the station with half of its energy needs, according to the Solar Century, the British company to install the sunroof.
Annual CO2 emissions are also expected to decline by over 500 tonnes.

Built in 1886, the railroad bridge is being transformed as part of an upgrade by Network Rail - the owner and operator of the railway infrastructure in the UK - at Blackfriars station there.
